A new set of free Mastercam turning strategies, will support Sandvik Coromant CoroTurn® Prime inserts and their new turning concept, the PrimeTurning™ method. This ground-breaking concept allows you to turn in all directions resulting in high productivity gains while increasing tool life.
The new Mastercam 2018 automated turning strategies simplify CAM programming and saves significant time. The innovative CoroTurn® Prime inserts, combined with Mastercam’s automated toolpath generation, help programmers increase productivity 50-80%, achieve high material removal rates, while doubling the tool life over conventional inserts currently in use.
The new Mastercam strategies support both CoroTurn® Prime A-type inserts, designed for roughing, finishing, and profiling, and B-type inserts for heavy roughing applications. These toolpaths allow programmers to achieve high productivity gains in ISO P steels, ISO M stainless steels, and ISO S heat-resistant super alloy (HRSA) materials.
Programmers gain full control of toolpath and cutting directions, lead in and lead out, plus automated management of speeds and feeds based on tested PrimeTurning specifications. These new features will be an add-on for all new and maintained seats of Lathe Level 1 and Mill-Turn products for Mastercam 2018. The add-on will also include a full tool library dedicated to Sandvik Coromant CoroTurn® Prime inserts and compatible holders.
